Commenting on the A-level results, Ms Chris Keates, General Secretary (Acting) of the NASUWT - The Teachers’ Union, said:

“These results are a tribute to the hard work, dedication and commitment of young people and their teachers.

“Students and their teachers deserve unreserved congratulations for their efforts and achievements.

“Teachers have, once again this year, shown their determination to enable every young person to progress and achieve, in spite of increased workload pressures and year on year cuts to education budgets and resources.

“In spite of big challenges, teachers should be congratulated for doing their utmost to ensure that all students gain the knowledge and skills they will need to unlock future opportunities in the world of work and further study.”
