Crossing the threshold

Having been misinformed that she was not eligible to progress to the Upper Pay Scale, a Northumberland member contacted the NASUWT for advice and support. Following a number of informal conversations with the Head Teacher, it was agreed that our colleague would progress to the correct point on the pay scale and that salary would be back-dated from 1st September 2016.

The NASUWT is grateful for the way that management engaged with our concerns and the subsequent amendment and adjustment to salary.

Leaking Roof

After months of having to tolerate a leaking roof and damaged ceiling in her classroom, a Northumberland colleague had simply had enough of complaining to the school management and contacted the NASUWT. Simply informing the school management that she had lodged her concerns with her union resulted in the roof and ceiling being repaired the following day.
